Aggregates and collects news from multiple sources across four major areas: trending social topics, technology news, developer trends, and general financial news. For social platforms, it covers 11 sources, including Weibo Trending, Zhihu Hot List, Bilibili Trending, Douyin Hot Topics, Baidu Tieba discussions, Hupu, NGA, Douban Groups, AcFun, and the Shuimu Community. For technology media, it aggregates 15 outlets, including 36Kr, ITHome, SSPAI, ifanr, The Verge, 9to5Mac, GeekPark, InfoQ, Juejin, OSCHINA, and Guokr, with category filters for Chinese- and English-language technology news. For developers, it tracks open-source and technology communities such as GitHub Trending, Juejin, 52pojie, 51CTO, HelloGitHub, and Readhub. For general news, it aggregates Baidu Trending, Toutiao, Tencent News, NetEase News, Sina, The Paper, Wallstreetcn, Huxiu, and more, with separate categories for general and financial news. What makes this role distinctive: it does not rely on any single media channel. Instead, it blends content from multiple sources (45 data sources), uses local caching to ensure availability, and randomizes results to help users escape filter bubbles. Best for: broad news aggregation scenarios, such as finding out what is trending today, what has recently happened in technology, what is new in developer communities, the latest financial news, or what people are discussing across major platforms. Not suitable for: this role does not provide Xiaohongshu trending topics, cross-platform keyword search, or a visual dashboard. If the user only wants real-time trending lists from the four specific platforms Douyin, Weibo, Zhihu, and Xiaohongshu, needs to search for keywords across platforms, or wants a visual dashboard for browsing trending topics, use the “Online Trends Observer” role instead.
